Open Mind / Open Heart
An Evening Introduction to the Work of Byron Katie as facilitated by Kathleen Hannan Tuesday, October 20th 7-9 pm $35-45 sliding scale (a few scholarships available) To register. please contact Coco Rosenblatt-Farrell [email protected] In this introductory evening, we will investigate stressful thinking using Byron Katie's profound self-inquiry tool, known as "The Work". As we investigate our thoughts with 4 simple questions and a "turnaround", our minds and hearts open to a world that is surprisingly fresh, beautiful and full of creative possibility. It's the world of reality seen without the lens of our stressful thinking. Here are Katie's simple. profound questions that point us towards our open mind and open heart...take any stressful thought and put it up to this inquiry... The Work of Bryon Katie 1. Is it true? 2. Can I absolutely know that it's true? 3. How do I react when I believe the thought? 4. Who would I be without the thought? Now turn the thought around and find ways that the opposites are as true or truer than your original thought/belief. The workshop is designed for beginners to the Work, however those with more experience are also very welcome. For information about The Work of Byron Katie, please visit www.thework.com or read Katie's book Loving What Is. On a deeper level, The Enneagram, by helping us become aware that our personality is really just a habitual way of seeing the world, eventually invites us into liberation from identification with our type. Do you see the world through the lens of the Peacemaker, Judge, Helper, Achiever, Tragic-Romantic, Observer, Loyalist, Epicure, Boss? Come join Kathleen in this conversation about the Enneagram, a remarkably accurate model of human personality, behavior and motivation, as well as a unique pointer towards discovery of our deepest self.
