After the Georgia and Iowa primaries this week it is even clearer than before that there
are lots of people in our country who do not believe in democratic elections.
However there are a whole lot more people who do believe in them.
The song below was inspired by the first democratic elections in South Africa.
Please vote out the people who do not want you to vote, towards the day
when we will finally have truly democratic elections in the USA. Love, Kathleen

In Memory of Nelson Mandela
July 1918 - December 2013
December 2013
I'm posting Count My Heart here tonight, in loving memory of Nelson Mandela and all those who have worked, lived and died for justice in South Africa.
I wrote this song in 1994 after hearing a South African man and woman being interviewed on the radio as they stood in line waiting to vote in the first free South African elections. The man said, "That this has finally happened in our lifetime, I am filled with joy, like a dreaming child." The woman followed, "We only know what has gone before, we can't say what's coming now."
That is always true....our minds can only know what has gone before. The great and mysterious gift of Nelson Mandela was his ability to see with his heart, to see something new coming. May we all discover in ourselves the faith that he had in us. Love to all, Kathleen
