Songs for Our Journey 16

This song came through after I enjoyed a workshop with Susan Harper, a wonderfully creative and innovative Continuum teacher who lives on the West coast and comes to North Carolina a couple of times a year to teach. One day Susan invited us to notice and allow ourselves to embody the reality that we are all sharing the same ground, all sitting, standing or walking on the same earth.  As I experimented with this, I discovered that as I truly opened to the shared ground, I felt a dissolving of the feeling of being a separate individual self. I wrote and sing this song with deep gratitude to Susan for the beautiful work she does, which has illuminated my life.   Thank you Susan!    

The Bodies, Voices & Spirit Chorus and I sang this with the Unity Center of Peace Congregation in Chapel Hill in the spring of 2016. We were accompanied by the music of Jude Casseday on djembe, Diantha Rau on the heartbeat drum, Raymond Smith on 12 string guitar, and me on piano.
